Football: Sergio Aguero taken to hospital after breathing problems

MADRID (AFP) - Sergio Aguero was taken to hospital after suffering from breathing problems during Barcelona's 1-1 draw with Alaves on Saturday (Oct 30). Aguero, 33, was forced off in the 41st minute at Camp Nou after he went down clutching his chest. It was not clear what caused the problem. He received treatment on the ground for several minutes and a stretcher was brought out, although the Argentinian was able to walk off the pitch. "Aguero reported chest discomfort and has been admitted to the hospital for a cardiac exam," Barcelona confirmed in a statement after the match. Barca's interim manager Sergi Barjuan said: "I asked him and he told me he was dizzy. I was told he went to hospital. I don't know anything else." Memphis Depay opened the scoring for Barcelona in the 49th minute but Alaves equalised in the 52nd after Luis Rioja dribbled through. Barca stay ninth in La Liga. Football: Manchester City great Sergio Aguero to leave club at end of season

MANCHESTER (AFP) – Argentina striker Sergio Aguero will leave Manchester City when his contract runs out this July, newspaper the Manchester Evening News reported on Monday (March 29). Aguero joined City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and has scored 257 goals in 384 games since, making him their record goal-scorer. City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said he would reserve any farewell speeches until Aguero actually leaves, but revealed he had commissioned a statue of the striker. “Sergio’s contribution to Manchester City over the last 10 years cannot be overstated,” Al Mubarak said. “This is not yet the moment for farewell words and speeches. There is still much to achieve,” he said with City in the running for their first ever European Champions League and hot favourites to win back the Premier League. “In the meantime, it gives me great pleasure to announce that we will be commissioning an artist to create a statue of Sergio to live at the Etihad Stadium,” the Manchester Evening News reported. The newspaper said City were planning a farewell party for Aguero after their final game of the Premier League season against Everton May 23.
